Almost three years ago I was invited into an online discussion between several LEGO enthusiasts and LEGO employees responsible for the Train line. The discussions we had led to the formulation of the UTB group of which I have also been a part of. I have now been working on the UTB project (since I am still under NDA, I can’t state what the UTB project is but for some background on UTB, follow this LUGNET thread and it will give you an idea) for over a year. It has been an interesting process to say the least and I hope one day I can share some of the details.
I haven’t said or posted much about the UTB project as (a) I am under NDA and what we can and can’t say has been pretty vague and (b) I was unsure if it would ever see the light of day and I didn’t want to get my hopes up. It looks like the UTB project is about to be real, there is a formal release date and I have seen the preliminary box art. It is a pretty cool project and I am sure it will generate a fair amount of discussion among the Train faithful pretty soon. 🙂
