What is a Carolina Train Builders kit?

CTB kits are unofficial LEGO® sets. These sets are designed to compiment the LEGO Train and Town themes in areas where LEGO has chosen not to offer products (e.g. rail side structures, track MoW vehicles, and rolling stock). CTB kits are typically priced 1.5x to 2x higher than one would expect a comprable kit from LEGO to cost. The reason for the higher costs are due in large part to the need to procure LEGO elements at retail or on the secondary market.

All CTB kits include full color instructions and all pieces necessary to construct the model. To the greatest extent possible, all parts are in brand new condition. Because some parts are difficult to find in new condition, used parts may be supplied as part of the kit. In the cases where used parts are delivered, the used parts are carefully selected to ensure compatibility with the rest of the model. Damaged pieces will never be delivered!
