CTB-1131 RoadRailer

With the re-release of the Metroliner as a LEGO Legend (LEGO Set 10001) it is now a little easier to build additional cars for this classic train. In addition to adding Metroliner styled cars, rolling stock in the same livery also becomes an option. The CTB-1131 RoadRailer continues Carolina Train Builder's series of rolling stock designs done in Metroliner livery.

Based on these pictures of an Amtrak RoadRailer rolling stock, CTB-1131 employs two identical trucks each supporting an end of a functioning trailer rig. The trailer rig itself is fully functional. The under carriage is largely based on the undercarriage from the the LEGO 6348 Surveillance Squad set.

This model uses a number of pieces which may be hard to find, notably the light grey panel doors and grey 2x6 slopes. While these elements may not be readily available, you may be able to find them on BrickLink . The grey doors appeared in one sets and the grey slopes in seven sets. The grey doors from the Metroliner Legend release can also be used with the stickers applied
